1. Memphis Museum of Science & History

Featuring a series of permanent and temporary exhibits in a historic building covered in pink Georgian marble, the Memphis Museum of Science & History features a replica of the original Piggly Wiggly store, a collection of Native American art, pre-Columbian artifacts found in the area, as well as a section dedicated to the development of the Memphis blues and other music styles.
2. The Cotton Museum
Although it is mostly known for its music scene, another key industry that helped the city grow into a bustling metropolis was cotton trade. Located at 65 Union Avenue in the heart of the city center and in the building of what was once the Memphis Cotton Exchange, this museum is open to the public on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Featuring a series of permanent exhibitions and a fully restored replica of the cotton trading area, this museum opened its doors to the public in 2006 with the goal of showcasing the history of cotton and highlighting the influence that this industry had in the development of the economy and culture of Memphis. 3. Memphis Music Hall of Fame
Located at 126 S 2nd Street, the Memphis Music Hall of Fame is another local landmark you should check out if you want to learn about the musicians that helped Memphis develop its reputation as a music hub. This museum and cultural center features permanent exhibitions that showcase memorabilia and other archival items from well-known personalities including Elvis Presley, Sam Phillips, Al Green, Johnny Cash, and Tina Turner.
