Beating Cancer Is In Our Blood - Fatemeh D

On June 13, we all joined together virtually across the country as ONE LLS to climb the same number of steps that would take us to the top of San Francisco’s iconic Salesforce Tower. 61 stories. 1,762 steps. And if you don’t have access to stairs, that height equals 600 chair step-ups or 8,810 walking strides. Thank you, Jim Keras Subaru Covington Pike for being a sponsor for our event and adapting to the safety and changes during Covid. Thank you from all of us at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!

Our event attracted more than 250 people that enjoyed relaxing on the patio and meeting our wonderful pups. We raised several thousand dollars for our organization at this event and Jim Keras Subaru continued collecting donations for us throughout the month of October. Sarah did a wonderful job of coordinating the event and ensuring we had everything we needed for a successful day. On behalf of all of our volunteers, we are so grateful for our friends at Subaru. Mid-South schools receive support for the future - Dennis R

Jim Keras Subaru defines leadership. Their team of salesmen and management are incredible, but it is their philanthropic heart that I would like to talk about in this brief story. Peer Power Foundation is a non-profit that recruits, trains, and employees college students to enter into the classrooms and support the teachers of high schools in Shelby County. The Keras family has helped our efforts to tutor in excess of 3000 high school students each week by sponsoring the Big River Crossing Half Marathon and 5K the last two years. This event benefited from having the association of such a community leader and the organization benefited by being able to serve even more high school students. The data of our success is incredible, much like the Jim Keras organization. If you would like to see more information visit our website at www.peerpowerfoundation.org

Assisting Mid-South families through partnership - Janie W

Jim Keras Subaru has been a sponsor to the Forrest Spence Fund 5k for several years. The Forrest Spence Fund begins with the story of Brittany and David Spence's first child, Robert Forrest Spence, born on September 10, 2007. Shortly after birth Forrest developed complications and was transported to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he fought valiantly for life for 55 days before his illness overtook him.The Spences view this as a way for them and for others to support families dealing with similar difficult situations and to give back to regional children's hospitals like Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Children's Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Baptist Women's Memorial Hospital, and St. Jude Children's Hospital where the amazing medical staff fought for Forrest and continues to fight for thousands of other children each year. We can proudly say that we have helped over 50,000 families across the Mid-South. We appreciate Jim Keras' support which allows us to continue our mission of assisting with the non-medical needs of critically and chronically ill patients and their families. The Forrest Spence Fund strives to accomplish its mission of assisting with the non-medical needs of critically and chronically ill children throughout the Mid-South by focusing on 4 areas. We meet individual patient and family needs. We work with institutions to better recognize and meet non-medical needs. We connect families with counseling and support groups and cover the cost of counseling for bereaved families. We provide grants to families demonstrating need. Thank you Jim Keras Subaru for your support!

Jim Keras Subaru gives back to Playback Memphis - Virginia M

Through a unique combination of improvisational theatre, personal narrative, and community dialogue, Memphis Matters provides audiences a wonderful opportunity to connect with the 'heart' of Memphis. At performances, we gather together to reflect on our identity as citizens of this unique and growing city. Seeing our impressions, observations, and stories come to life via Playback strengthens our shared community and lifts our collective civic spirits. Folks are always welcome to share a story, or just sit back and watch the magic unfold. All ticket proceeds from every Memphis Matters show go towards funding shows for our community partners. These shows take place within programs serving under served populations and benefit groups in need. Memphis Matters wouldn't be possible without the support of partners like Jim Keras Subaru. Just like Subaru, Playback Memphis firmly believes that love is paramount in the work that we do. Thanks for your continued support - we look forward to being partners for a very long time.
