Subaru Loves to Care
Whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping all animals safe and healthy.
Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.
It’s our goal to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible.
In a perfect world, hunger would be history and hope would be commonplace. We believe a perfect world is possible.
We should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. We’re aiming to give as many people that chance as we can.
Our Love Promise can be seen in various partnerships we have developed with local charities and non-profits. We are grateful for the opportunity, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve it as well.
Jim Keras Subaru showed their support and partnership to the Wolf River Conservancy through their generous sponsorship of our annual Cycle the Greenway event on Saturday, June 4th. We appreciate Jim Keras Subaru's commitment to conservation - preserving our water, land and wildlife here in the Mid-South. We look forward to partnering with Jim Keras Subaru again and thank you for helping make this a record-breaking year for our Cycle the Greenway!
Jim Keras Subaru has offered continued support for New Memphis Institute and our Embark alumni. We are very thankful that we had another opportunity to work with Jim Keras again and have them sponsor our group at St. Jude/Duncan-Williams’ Dragon Boat Race. The Embark program brings together young professionals to collaborate and develop holistic skills that they can use to change Memphis for the better. Jim Keras’ sponsorship helps us provide catering, convenience, and comradery for our affiliates. Because of this we are allowed to bring our alumni together to foster their connections with their professional peers. Thank you to Jim Keras Subaru for its continued support.
Jim Keras Subaru for the second year in a row supported the annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis as the "Great Futures" sponsor at the annual Steak n' Burger dinner on May 3rd, 2016. Over 650 guests enjoyed an evening spent with the members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis learning more about the daily programs the Clubs offer while enjoying a meal together. Featured guest speaker was Memphis' own Penny Hardaway who grew up attending the Ira Samelson Jr. Boys & Girls Club and shared "If it wasn't for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis there is no telling where I would be. It was huge for me; this is my roots and this is where I come from." Jim Keras Subaru's annual involvement with the event furthers the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis' mission and helps promote educational and civic excellence in the Memphis community. Nearly 4,000 club members count on the support to fund the tutoring, meals, leadership and character building programs they enjoy every day. Thank you to Jim Keras Subaru and their outstanding team members!
Jim Keras has a lot of love, and they shared it with MIFA's Meals on Wheels seniors and pets this holiday season! The team at Jim Keras Subaru held TWO pet food drives to help feed the companion animals of MIFA's Meals on Wheels clients. They also used the Share the Love promotion to raise over $11,880 for the Meals on Wheels program! Our creative partnership was so successful that it won MIFA third place for large programs in Meals on Wheels America's grant competition made possible by Subaru of America--a prize of $5,000. Thanks to Jim Keras Subaru, we'll be able to serve over nearly 2,000 meals to clients, and countless more to their companion animals! MIFA loves Jim Keras Subaru!!!
Join us in our Subaru Loves Learning initiative during the month of August! We are partnering with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in donating science books to Grace - St. Luke's Episcopal School. All of the books that will be donated have been recognized by AAAS as some of the best science books in their field. Contact us to learn more information.
We would like to thank our customers for participating in our E Waste Recycling event during the month of April. With your help, we were able to prevent 2,107 lbs of carbon emissions from polluting the atmosphere. This is equivalent to saving 81 trees, 359 gallons of gasoline, 3,054 plastic bottles, and 14,047 aluminum cans. Thank you for helping strengthen the Subaru Love Promise!
The Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County takes home a check for $15,414.00 thanks to Share the Love Campaign!! Pictured are Tyler Benitone, Katie Pemberton, Jay Keras, Mark Jordan and special guest Shawnee! The special guest was supposed to be a black lab mix named Subaru, but he got a new home!!!

Jim Keras Subaru in Memphis, Tenn., partnered with the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County as one of its local charities for the annual Share the Love event. HSMSC is a private nonprofit animal shelter focusing on injured and abused animals. In addition to benefiting HSMSC through Share the Love car sales donations, Jim Keras Subaru also invited the shelter to bring adoptable animals to the dealership for a mobile adoption. HSMSC staff and volunteers brought six adoptable dogs to meet potential adopters on Friday, Dec. 19: Tanner, a black lab mix; Keebler, a pit bull mix; Edgerton, an Airedale terrier mix; Wilhelm, a pit bull mix; Nix, a terrier mix puppy; and Butler, a lab mix. All of the animals thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people, explore a new place, and interact with one another. Nix, the puppy, got the opportunity to be the Service Department mascot for a few hours! Edgerton and Wilhelm, two of the "old men" of the bunch, took on the role of "fun police"Â and barked and fussed anytime one of the other dogs got too rowdy. Most of the dogs involved in the Jim Keras Subaru/HSMSC mobile adoption have been adopted!
Several years ago, our volunteers noticed that some Meals on Wheels clients were saving a portion of each meal to share with their companion animals. In response to this critical issue, we began monthly deliveries of pet food to help these seniors keep their pets and still receive the nutrition they need to remain independent. In December, our Stuff the Forester event, in celebration of Subaru of America's Share the Love, resulted in much-needed community awareness and over 1,000 pounds of pet food, treats, toys, and beds for our seniors' pets was stuffed into the back of the Forester. According to our estimates, our media and social media promotion reached approximately 106,308 people's exposure that would have not been possible without Subaru's live commercial featuring the event. The benefits of this event have far exceeded our expectations, and thanks to the hospitality of Jim Keras Subaru's staff, especially Mark Jordan, it was one of the smoothest events we've had this year. The Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA) is incredibly grateful for our partnership with Jim Keras Subaru, and we hope it will continue!
